It differs from every other name on this site in one way: it is meant to come off. An attitude name stays for months; a birthday name is for a day or a week, which makes the change-back rule the thing worth checking first.
02 Cooldowns
Check the cooldown before you set it
Every platform limits how often you can change your display name, and a birthday name spends one of those changes. Setting it and removing it counts as two.

Facebook is the one to avoid. At one change every 60 days, a birthday name set on your profile stays for two months — and Facebook's name policy prohibits symbols in a personal profile name anyway. Use a Page name or a post there instead.

Why "Happy Birthday" does not fit a game name
"Happy Birthday" is 14 characters before you add anything. Free Fire allows 12 and BGMI 14, so the phrase alone already fails one and exactly fills the other.

The bio is usually the better place
Bios have no change cooldown and far more room than a name field. Instagram gives 150 characters in the bio against 30 in the name, and you can remove it the next morning without spending an allowance.
A WhatsApp group name is the other place worth using. Contacts who saved your number never see your profile name, but every member of a group sees the group name — so that is where a birthday message actually reaches people.

A cake that shows as a box is the emoji, not the letters. 🎂 and 🎉 render almost everywhere, but rarer party emojis fail on older devices. Swapping to a symbol such as ✦ or ❁ keeps the look and removes the risk.
